Real Madrid have expressed “legitimate interest” in Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, according to reports.
The La Liga champions have been mentioned as potential suitors for the Argentinian international, not least because the player himself has made it known that he would like to live in Madrid.
However, until now, it hasn’t been clear whether Real are serious about making an approach for Fernandez this summer.
Now, Daily Mail journalist Kieran Gill claims the Spanish giants are genuinely keen, and the Blues will now have to “wait and see” if a “formal offer” is lodged over the coming days/weeks.
Chelsea have set their asking price
Multiple sources, including Gill himself, have verified that the Blues won’t let Fernandez leave for less than £120m, which is a steep valuation for any interested team to match.
However, newly elected president Florentino Perez did promise a bid of €150m (£130m) for a “Galactico” during his election campaign.
It is widely believed that the top target is Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, but the France international is unlikely to leave the Allianz Arena.
If Perez can’t secure the winger’s services, he may well turn his attention to Fernandez as an alternative.

Fernandez is one of several players expected to leave
Left-back Marc Cucurella is also pushing for a move away from Stamford Bridge, while the Blues are set to listen to offers for Filip Jorgensen, Axel Disasi, Tyrique George and David Datro Fofana.
One of Liam Delap or Nicolas Jackson is likely to be offloaded too, with manager Xabi Alonso not needing both to provide cover for first-choice no.9 Joao Pedro. It is set to be another busy summer of incomings and outgoings at the London club.
