Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha has been shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award for 2025-26.

Ngumoha’s breakthrough campaign in the past season saw him make 29 appearances for the Reds and score twice.

The first of his goals – a winner deep into stoppage time of the Premier League clash at Newcastle United last August – made him the club’s youngest scorer in history.

Ngumoha was then on target with his first competitive strike at Anfield when Fulham were beaten in the league in April.

He is up against Rayan Cherki, Max Dowman, Junior Kroupi, Kobbie Mainoo and Nico O’Reilly for the prestigious accolade.

The winner will be announced at the PFA Awards on August 25.
