Liverpool will be one of the sides featuring in Europe’s premier competition next season, on account of their fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.
England and Spain earned an extra spot in the league phase based on the collective performance of their clubs in European competition in the term just completed.
The remaining seven league-phase teams will be determined in late August upon completion of the qualifying rounds.
