Adam Lallana was a key early catalyst in Liverpool’s transformation into trophy hunters and winners under Jurgen Klopp.
The England international had been signed by Brendan Rodgers from Southampton in the summer of 2014 having shone in the Premier League with his silky attacking talents.
A collectively difficult debut season made way for a revolution led by Klopp from October 2015, with Lallana’s insatiable pressing and command of the ball tailor-made for the new manager.
He also caused Klopp’s glasses to break due to celebrations after he scored an incredible stoppage-time winner in the 5-4 humdinger at Norwich City in January 2016.
After near-misses in the League Cup and Europa League that season, Lallana was integral to the Reds securing Champions League qualification in 2016-17, supplying eight goals from 31 league appearances.
Injury misfortunes prevented him from building upon that in the years that followed, though he remained an important member of a squad that went on to achieve greatness.
