Giorgi Mamardashvili has shared a message on social media following his injury in Sunday’s Merseyside derby.

The goalkeeper had to be substituted during the second half of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Due to a collision in the passage of play that saw the Blues equalise, Mamardashvili was taken off and replaced by Freddie Woodman.

Head coach Arne Slot reported post-match that the Georgian had gone to hospital with a ‘big wound’.

Mamardashvili provided an update on Monday morning, saying: “Thank God everything is fine.

“Thank you all so much for your support and for being by my side.

“I’ll be back soon.

“Big win in the derby and three points.”
