The agent of Chelsea striker Joao Pedro “is expected to inform” the Blues that he wants to join Barcelona this summer.
Sports World claim that the Brazilian is “eager” to make the switch to the La Liga champions, with the chance to replace Robert Lewandowski as the club’s main no.9.
Pedro only made the move from Brighton to Stamford Bridge last year in a deal worth up to £60m (including add-ons).
The 24-year-old has had an excellent debut season, scoring 20 goals in all competitions despite having to deal with all the upheaval at the London club.
Barcelona have switched striker targets
Heading into the summer, the Catalan club were said to be eyeing a move for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
However, the Argentinian international’s asking price, combined with the recent news that Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the player, has led Barca to consider other options.
They have subsequently set their sights on Pedro, who they believe is keen on a move to the Camp Nou, where he would follow in the footsteps of other Brazilians, including Ronaldinho, Neymar and Raphinha.

Does the Chelsea forward have an asking price?
Sports World report that sources have told them that a fee in the region of €100m (£87m) would be needed to prise Pedro away from Chelsea.
While Barcelona don’t expect that negotiations will be straightforward, with the Blues keen on keeping hold of the player, they feel that the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League could potentially help in talks.
Whether that is in fact true, we shall have to wait and see, but it seems clear that keeping Pedro this summer could prove to be a challenge.
