Chelsea are interested in snapping up Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe, according to reports in Italy.
The Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) claim that the Blues are one of several clubs preparing a summer bid for the England Under-21 international.
Rowe only moved from Marseille to Serie A last August, but he has impressed during his time in Italy, scoring 7 goals and providing 4 assists.
In addition to the Blues, it is believed Manchester United, Aston Villa and Galatasaray are also hoping to secure the 22-year-old’s signature.
Bologna have set their asking price for Rowe
The player cost €17m when he joined the Italian club last summer, and they are expected to demand more than double that amount if approaches are made over the coming months.
Journal report that a proposal of €34m (£29.5m) has already been turned down, with Rowe’s price tag having been set at €40m (£35m).
That figure is unlikely to put off Chelsea from making a move if Rowe is top of their shortlist to strengthen the left flank.

Chelsea are looking to replace Garnacho
It was reported earlier this week that the Blues may offload Alejandro Garnacho after just one season.
The Argentinian international arrived from Manchester United for £40m last year, but he has struggled for consistency, and there is a feeling among the club’s hierarchy that the move has not worked out.
In that context, the interest in Rowe does make sense. He is a similar age to Garnacho, but he is a more versatile player.
The former Norwich City star is right-footed, but he is comfortable playing off both flanks, having also been deployed as a striker in the past.
