{"id":903,"date":"2026-04-23T08:21:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T08:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zeeworld.name.ng\/?p=903"},"modified":"2026-04-23T08:21:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T08:21:08","slug":"matt-beard-inducted-into-wsl-hall-of-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zeeworld.name.ng\/?p=903","title":{"rendered":"Matt Beard inducted into WSL Hall of Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The former Liverpool FC Women manager, who tragically passed away last September, is inducted posthumously in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the women\u2019s game.<\/p>\n<p>Beard had two successful and memorable spells in charge of the club, which he left in February 2025.<\/p>\n<p>During his first tenure, Liverpool won consecutive WSL titles in 2013 and 2014. Beard then returned in 2021 and immediately led the Reds back to the top flight following their relegation to the second tier.<\/p>\n<p>He was twice named WSL Manager of the Season, in 2013 and 2024, and also managed Chelsea and West Ham United in the English top tier during a long and decorated association with women\u2019s football.<\/p>\n<p>Also inducted into the WSL Hall of Fame in 2026 are Casey Stoney and Kerys Harrop.<\/p>\n<p>Legendary former England defender Stoney spent 14 months with Liverpool at the end of her playing days.
