{"id":7204,"date":"2026-06-05T16:09:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T16:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zeeworld.name.ng\/?p=7204"},"modified":"2026-06-05T16:09:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T16:09:07","slug":"liverpools-greatest-no-86-jerzy-dudek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zeeworld.name.ng\/?p=7204","title":{"rendered":"Liverpool&#8217;s Greatest &#8211; No.86: Jerzy Dudek"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Jerzy Dudek cemented himself into Liverpool folklore when the performance of his life helped to clinch a European Cup. <\/p>\n<p>The big Pole in our goal was a standout among many heroes during the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul, ensuring he will forever be loved by the club\u2019s supporters, as evidenced in this vote.<\/p>\n<p>That famous night in Turkiye was the undoubted highlight of Dudek\u2019s six-season career as a Reds player. <\/p>\n<p>As part of a <strong><u>Gerard Houllier<\/u><\/strong>  double goalkeeper swoop, Dudek arrived at Anfield alongside <strong><u>Chris Kirkland<\/u><\/strong>  in August 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Dudek earned the No.1 spot to be the last line of a defence that conceded just 30 goals on the way to a second-placed finish in the Premier League. <\/p>\n<p>His second campaign was more testing, though, as a result of several high-profile mistakes.
